POSITION: Training Instructor
BUSINESS UNIT: Mining
LOCATION: Northern Cape (Kolomala Mine Project)
REPORTING TO: Training Manager
JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT: Responsible to execute/deliver training and training administration in line with Operating group and site-specific Plant requirements
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):
- Implement and maintain the HRD quality management system
- Co-ordinate delivery of training and competency assessments
- Train as per training matrix
- Develop, maintain and update training manuals
- Maintain quality in training delivery
- Develop and implement: facilitators manuals, capability assessments, workplace competency assessments and customize training material for sites
- Generate reports with regards to training
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Grade 12
- Must be qualified as Assessor and Moderator with the MQA
- Blasting ticket will be an advantage
EXPERIENCE:
- Strong knowledge of an Opencast Mining environment and operating Heavy Earthmoving Equipment
- At least 5 years’ experience as an Assessor in an outcomes based Training environment.
- Ability to train, assess and support operators on at least 3 x of the following equipment types:
- Sandvic D25KS Drills
- CAT789C Dump Trucks
- Komatsu HD785 Dump Trucks
- CAT 6030 Excavator
- CAT 6050 Face Shovels
- CAT D9/ D10 Dozers
- Valid Driver’s license
- Pass VTS Dover
- No criminal record
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Computer literate – MS Office
- Able to travel to various mining sites when required
- Knowledge of skills development legislation
- Knowledge of open cast mining environment
- Effective planning and communication skills
- Knowledge of SAQA, MQA and NQF bodies and administration procedures
