POSITION: Millwright
BUSINESS UNIT: Mining
LOCATION: Northern Cape (Sishen Project)
REPORTING TO: Workshop Foreman
JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT: The effective repair and maintenance of all Heavy Earthmoving Equipment machinery on site, with the least disruption to the site. Attempt to achieve maximum availability for each plant item on site.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):
- Diagnose faults and repairs on all Earthmoving Equipment.
- Carry out preventative maintenance on Earthmoving Equipment tocompany standards.
- Carry out all minor and major services.
- Check machines and carry out repairs that are required.
- Complete daily and weekly inspection sheets and advise notes
- Monitor and measure daily efficiencies
- Implement productivity improvement initiatives according to OE plan
- Ensure plant availability of 85%.
- Apply the necessary quality assurance methods and procedures according to the quality management system, specifications and legislation
- Apply and monitor the aspects of preventative maintenance.
- Coordinate services of all equipment and plant.
- Read and interpret workshop manuals and parts book for each machine being serviced or repaired.
- Supervise repairs being carried out in the workshop.
- Work to the highest safety and environmental standards of the company.
- Adhere to all safety instructions as laid out on site.
- High voltage switching.
- Maintenance of high voltage trailing cable
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Grade 12
- Qualified Artisan; Millwright (Phase training completed, and relevant Trade Test passed)
- Valid Driver’s License
- No criminal record
- Pass Dover test at applicable level
EXPERIENCE:
- At least 3-5 years related work experience (other jobs that prepared you for this job).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Mechanical and Electrical skills
- Sound knowledge of service and maintenance on Earthmoving Equipment (O&K RH 200 & Mini-sub stations, CAT 6050, 6030, Komatsu PC3000, CAT Loader 994)
- High Voltage Switch Authorization at Kumba Iron Ore will be an advantage.
