The scope of work included construct, install, commission and handover of No. 4 Shaft, No. 1 Shaft and a 1 390 metre Level Pump Station. This included the sinking, lining and equipping of the 7 x 9 metre oval production shaft to a depth of 1 430 metres (No 4 Shaft); the deepening of the existing No 1 Shaft from a depth of 1 070 meters to 1 430 meters; and the excavation of a Pump chamber complex, including sumps and settlers on the Lower levels. Hoisting 700 tonnes of waste per day was required in order to meet the programme.
