The Bruce Iron Ore mine, owned by Assmang Limited, is situated 55km west of Kuruman in the Northern Cape province of South Africa, where it borders the Sishen Iron Ore mine. The ore was mined from a series of pits and the resource was of a very high grade, with a life of mine in excess of 40 years.
Using three excavators, Moolmans moved approximately 500,000 BCMs of ore and waste monthly. Moolmans was also responsible for all drilling, load and haul operations and employed approximately 220 people.
