POSITION: Boilermaker
BUSINESS UNIT: Mining
LOCATION: Northern Cape (Sishen Project)
REPORTING TO: Workshop Foreman
JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT: Responsible for the maintenance and repair of Earthmoving Equipment components in an open pit mining environment
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):
- Must be able to carry out maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment
- Fabrication from drawings, welding and developments
- Adhering to Mine Standards, Procedures, Rules and Regulations
- Training and coaching subordinates
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Qualified Artisan –Section 13 Trade Test
- Valid Driver’s License
- Pass a VTS/ Dover Test
- No criminal record
EXPERIENCE:
- At least 5 years’ experience in repair and maintenance of various Heavy-Duty Machinery in an Opencast Mining environment.
- Ability to read and fabricate from drawing
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and supervisory skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet targets
- Problem solving skills
- Willing to work overtime and do stand by duties
